This web site is a portal useful to enter in the "hearth" of the land called "Appennino reggiano" (the mountains of the Province of Reggio Emilia) and to know this piece of land full of history, nature, culture and relaxation. Castelnovo Monti is the centre of it, placed at feet of the Bismantova's Rock, in the right half between the highest mountains (Parco del Gigante - Busana, Collagna, Ligonchio, Ramiseto and Villa Minozzo Commons)and the matildical places. The main element of this land is, without any doubts, the Castle: Canossa, Rossena, Sarzano, Carpineti together with the old churches and romanesque monastrys like Marola, that re-echo Matilde. On the West is situated the Enza valley (Commons of Vetto and Ciano) with the Riders valley, that offers natural places of big suggestion. On the East there are the high fields of the rivers Secchia and Dolo, that borning from the Casarola mountain and Royal fir-wood, go towards Castellarano and Sassuolo, rounding the Toano mountain, alone. Baiso, Viano together with Casina are the beautiful hills with superb natural corners. In the centre there is the small Crostolo valley: it is the main road to reach the mountains from Reggio Emilia, until the Cerreto pass (towards the Luni land and the gulf of La Spezia).
