Analytical text:

The center retains in part the medieval form and characteristics: the buildings are made of stone with very thick walls, small windows, and a few balconies.
The antique hamlet of Cerezzola is made of a thick cluster of rural buildings next to a tower house which rises as a presidio of the valley of the same name facing the volcanic wall of Campotrera.
The antique tower which surmounts the surrounding houses of the hamlet, is square-shaped, with a four cornered roof decorated in the lower eave by randomly placed brick filari.
A winding alley passes through the hamlet, passing besides the massive fortified dwelling, winding under a charming underpass supported by a wooden architrave.
Along the route numerous indications of the "popular pietà" are visible made up by a devotional apuano marble icon in 18th century and a few votive tabernacles made inside walled niches and protected by wooded gates probably of the 19th century.
From the bridge over the Cerezzola brook (Rio), directly under the hamlet, you can see the steep rock wall of Campotrera, entirely made of lava which erupted millions of years ago on the bottom of an antique sea.
The rock is recognizable by its brownish-reddish hue which characterizes the surrounding landscape.
Opposite Cerezzola, on the right side of the state road in the direction of Vetto, you can see the Apside of an old oratory.
Inside there are obsidian frescos dating back to the Late Middle-Ages.
