Description
The church, dedicated to San Prospero and listed in the Registry of Tithes of 1302 and of 1318 was dependent at first on the parish of Campiliola and later on the one of Castelnovo. In 1775 it has a single tabulated nave and three altars. Not long before 1874 the church underwent a radical transformation. The present day building is directed from east to west and has the apse facing west. On its southern side there's an "opus quadratum" surface, which stands out among massive local sandstone ashlars, probably belonging to the former Romanesque church. The Architrave of a window on the northern side bears the engraving: "AMS 1644".
Construction period: about 1300.
