Description
The current center, situated at the northern foot of the hill on which the castel of Baiso rises, spreading over a strip of adjacent sandstone to a series of calanques noteworthy for their landscape, maintains almost intact its original aspect. The hamlet, surrounded by oak woods, has an undifferentiated type of plan, and is constituted by distinct prominences: a first group of houses void of any particular interest is found near the hut-shaped oratory with small vaulting cell steeple, while in front there's an interesting rural complex with retangular structure.
The urban andarchitectural aspect of the constructions seems to relate to a resisdential, especially from the 17th century.
The more ancient building, a tower house, dated 15th or 16th century, leads you to believe a maybe "fortified" handiworks centre.
Its proximity to the main town, the first centre for who comes up from Viano, confirms that it followed the principal politico-historical events.
The historical buildings are usually in bad conditions, even if they can still get back both from the static and from the typologic point of view.
The three original and divided,also physically, poles, which distinguish the agglomeration, are a house with tower, maybe the more ancient component, an agricultural court which grown around a 17th century tower, and finally the isolated "villa" from 17th century, Ovi family's ancient palace, which is partly readapted.
The agglomaration shows a chapel, probably from the 17th century,which is devoted to Saint Charles; the few latest handiworks are outside the more ancient centre.
