Description
The church of San Vito "in loco Onfiano" (in the place called Onfiano) which in 1302 was amongst the churches dependent on the San Vitale parish of Carpineti, is mentioned in a chart of 1065 in the Archives of the Reggio Emilia Cathedral and is mentioned again among those subject to the Campiliola parish in a bull of Eugenio III in 1146. After, 1543, when the church was in bad condition, it was reconstructed in a mixed Tuscan fashion. The sloping façade has an architraved portal with upper tapered niche and in the center there's a small four-foiled window. The interior has a single nave with three altars and is oriented liturgically. The bell tower rises on the northern side and ends with a double-light window cell adorned with a bas-relief.
