Analytical text:

Description: It perhaps appears cited in a document of 1245 in which a "Joannes de Suncto Stephani" is nominated. In 1352 and 1359 it appears united to the church of Rosano but the definitive union was ratified only in 1493 and remained as such till 1852. During Bishop Cervini's visit in 1543, the church was found to be badly cared for. Marliani visited it in 1664 and described it as "antiqua", liturgically oriented and "tabulata". Picenardi visited it in 1705 and described it as having three altars. Questionable restoration done in the XX century allowed traces of frescos of the XIV-XV century to surface.
