Analytical text:

Francesco Petrarca went to Selvapiana to have a rest and write surrounded by nature - in 1341 he went to Rossena Castle - and here he finished his poem Africa. To remember this in 1838 - 1847 Duchess Maria Luigia made this temple built in Selvapiana and decorated by Francesco Scaramuzza - There is aloso a mrble statue by Tommaso Bandini. The writing at the front was dictated by Pietro Giordani a friend of Giacomo Leopardi - Later next to the temple they built the house for the keeper. All this in the place where there was the house where Petrarca stayed. in the last years it has beeen redecorated.
There is also a monument realized by the sculpture school with the stone from Canossa.
It can be a very small park very nice and pleasant connected to different paths.
