From the administrative capital along SP 15 toward P.sso del Lagastrello, turn left to Succiso as far as Varvilla. On foot:

At the foot of the mountain it is possible to find shelter in the Rifugio Rio Pascolo, where a side of the building is always open by necessity.

Description:
Between Casarola and Alpe di Succiso there used to be a wide glacier in the high Valle della Liocca.
The biggest lenght of that glacier was 5.700 m, and the snowline of the valley during that time was of 1294 m. Due to its form, its steep and rock faces, the mountain recall the alpine peaks. From the Alpe di Succiso top (2016 above sea level), in the clearest days, you can admire, towards south a striking view of the Spezia gulf, of Corsica, of the major islands of the Tuscan archipelago, and towards north the Enza valley from the high part of Ramiseto, as far as the Pianura Padana.
