The main roads crossing the Apennine of Reggio Emilia are characterized by a north-south direction, they follow the valleys and go from Emilia to the ridge passes leading to Liguria and Tuscany, and vice versa.
From Reggio Emilia: take the road SS 63 to Castelnovo ne' Monti, Cerreto Pass, La Spezia. You will cross the municipalities of Casina, Carpineti, Castelnovo ne' Monti, Busana and Collagna.
From Modena: Take main road n° 15 to Sassuolo and then continue along trunk road n° 486 following the signs for Passo delle Radici. When you reach Cerredolo, turn onto the trunk road n° 19 and continue as far as Gatta. From Gatta you can reach Castelnovo ne' Mont, Villa Minozzo, Carpineti and follw to other municipalities.
From Parma: Take main road n° 513 from Parma, passing through Traversetolo, San Polo d'Enza, Ciano d'Enza and Vetto before finally coming into Castelnovo ne' Monti
From Aulla:: the Province of Reggio Emilia and Tuscany are linked by road SS 63, which leaves the Province of Massa Carrara before crossing over the Cerreto Pass. Direction Reggio Emilia.
