The itinerary begins in the location Fariolo about 1 km from Felina in the direction of Reggio Emilia, which can be reached taking the SS 63. Directions for the fraction on the right for those coming from Reggio Emilia.

Itinerary in detail
It's an itinerary with historical and naturalistic interest, about 30 km long and which can be finished in about 3hr30', running mostly on dirt roads and paths in the woods and which goes over the central part of the Valley of the Rio Maiollo, running next to the torrent.
Along the route you pass by chestnut woods, water mills and metati, things which remind one of the fundamental role played by chestnuts in the economy of mountain inhabitants.
From a historical and geographical point of view the towns of Gombio, Roncroffio, and Pietradura are interesting.
