Description
The hamlet is inserted in a small valley of great scenic beauty which leads directly to the Secchia river.
A local legend has it that the current hamlet was once situated elsewhere, further north, which because of a landslide, moved down from its current location.
This event is mirrored in the name of the hamlet which means descent, calata.
the first mention of the hamlet date back to the first years of the XI century in which the chapel of Talada resulted as being subject to the Monastery of San Prospero of Reggio Emilia.
In the XV century Talada was subject to events connected to Busana.
The 1920 earthquake almost destroyed the hamlet which underwent profound changes.
Among the ruins of the old hamlet and the new constructions only two buildings remain: the parochial church of San Michele, completely modernized in which there's an ashlar of the ancient construction, dated "1714", and the San Rocco oratory, it too has undergone restoration operations.
