Vaglie

The fraction is 8 kms from the administrative capital and can be reached taking the SP 32 in the direction of the passo di Pradarena then taking the SP 92 on the right for a few kilometers after the location Laghi.
The town of Le Vaglie occupies the northern slopes of Mount Cavalbianco, to the left of the Rossendola torrent.

Vaglie has its etymology in the Latin term "vagus", or rather "wandering", which harkens back to the wanderings of many peoples among which the Ligurians who settled in this territory.
In the village a fortified structure probably rise, this is attested by a buttress made in wrought stone which bounds the side of a rock face.
The Vaglie keep an interesting architectural heritage with many wrought sandstone portals.
You can see round arches, interrupted by a keystone and impost corbels, which are cross decorated or quadrangular with grained massive jambs.
Vaglie hamlet is divided in two centres: Vaglie Vecchia and Coperchiaia.
In Vaglie Vecchia you can find some stone houses with clay plaster, wash-houses and the small square of the village.
From Coperchiaia there is one of the most beautiful landscape: you can view the Pietra di Bismantova, the Pre-Alps, the Monte Cusna, the Casarola, the Ventasso.
Near the built-up area there is a thick chestnut wood.
