Analytical text:
Vallisnera is divided into two hamlets with the parochial church in the center. The hamlet of Vallisnera roughly interrupts a narrow valley situated on the side of the southern slope of Mt. Ventasso.
The hamlet is of ancient origins and has given its name to one of the most important feudal families of the Reggiano Mountains: the Vallisnera.
Today, still, the ruins of the ancient fort dominate the underlying hamlet.
The modern hamlet of Vallisnera is divided into two inhabited areas located at different altitudes. Between the two hamlets the parochial church of S. Pietro rises, already part of the Campiola parish in 1146.
The building s are situated in a scaled fashion along the slope and have undergone great transformations.
The upper hamlet retains an interesting architectural landscape with 18th and 19th century buildings.
Noteworthy is a 19th century square plan construction, arranged on different levels with original cover surface of sandstone slabs which is close to a narrow underpass from which you can see the side of an 18th century dwelling with the characteristic smoothed sandstone squared windows.
A praiseworthy majesty encloses in a niche a marble icon depicting the Blessed Virgin with child probably belonging to the 19th century.
