Within studies whose purpose it is to investigate the Romano-Ligurian presence in the Apennine area, in particular in minor centers, the voluntary associations and the Town have done research in the area. The Archeological commission for Emilia Romagna is leading excavations in the Luceria area, which appear to be quite interesting. Also in the past, in various periods, excavations took place. Starting from 1776 - 1786, when archeological science had yet(as it is currently understood) to come into its own. Other research excavations were carried out in 1861 by don Gaetano Chierici. Findings were conspicuous: among other things found were Roman tombs, in 1909, during construction works by the Reggio - Ciano Railway.
