Description
The Rio Re valley has a complex and interesting geological profile. The climb up the narrow and deep valley is an easy and fascinating excursion.
Near the beginning you can see huge banks, the so-called Triassic gypsums, deeply carved through from the erosion of the torrential waters, which stand out for their whitish color. IN the high part the itinerary crosses the valley which has been sculpted by the flow of water coming from the imposing glacial cirque of the Rio Re wetlands, marking the layers of the arenaceas formation of Mount Cervarola.
